Top 5 Thanksgiving Side Dishes

Ok yall, we are only two short days from my favorite holiday of the year, Thanksgiving!! If you haven't done your food shopping go immediately after reading this! I went super early yesterday morning; which was amazing because I was 1 of 3 people in there.

I love this holiday so, so much! There is just something about it. Maybe it's because with each passing year I gain more and more to be thankful for or that there are no pretenses involved like presents etc...it's just family/friends gathering around to enjoy in one another's company and to eat the most glorious foods!!

This post is going to be short and sweet because i have family to get back to but I just wanted to share my favorite sides dishes I have made over the years.

Let's start with these chipotle maple sweet potatoes...heaven! I love spicy, sweet and smokey and this dish lends ALL OF THAT!! My sister made these years ago and it was love at first bite. The only thing she tweaked about it was adding goat cheese; it was the best decision she made that day. Just make these please.

Next up...creamed collards with bacon. I could eat these every single week. It's an odd to the classic creamed spinach but better!

We can all agree that it isn't Thanksgiving without macaroni and cheese, right? Right. And this is the ultimate recipe! It's Martha Stewart so you know its good.

Whether you like stuffing or dressing, or just flat out don't know the difference, you won't really care after having Ina's sausage and herb stuffing. It's just the right amount of different.

And finally, cheesy-garlic mashed potatoes!! I know we already have a potato dish but mashed potatoes are just classic and it isn't Thanksgiving without them to pour that yummy gravy over along side your sliced turkey and cranberry sauce.

I hope everyone has a super special Thanksgiving and that you'll have at least one of these sides dishes on your table!! Gobble Gobble you turkeys!!

Now, back to enjoying my family! :)
