Get Hydrated

January 25, 2018

I don't know about y'all, but my skin was starting to take a toll due to the super dry, cold air this winter.  I felt like I was ALWAYS itchy...everywhere! Especially my arms and legs but my face seemed unusually dry.  And then there's the sensitive skin around my eyes.  Ladies, I know you feel me on this one.  The dryer that skin is the more our um, mature lines show lol  I have always been very diligent about taking care of my skin; I'm pretty sure I started using anti-aging products in college.  My night time beauty regimen is quite extensive I must admit but to me, it's worth spending all that time making sure every nook and cranny is cleansed, lathered, patted and whatever the hell else I can do to it to combat signs of aging!  No one wants to look a day older than they are, in fact, I want to look years younger, ya feel me?  But I'm not ready for needles...not sure I'll ever be but who knows.

I try my best to use products that are as naturally derived as possible but it's even more important to monitor what you put IN your body.  I've compiled a list of beauty products I've been using as well as foods that will help hydrate you from the inside out.  It may be the end of January already, but there's still a couple of months of cold dry air left, unfortunately.

Here's a quick list of high-water-content foods!  These are especially great for those of you who would rather eat your water:)

  1. Cucumbers

  2. Celery

  3. Iceberg lettuce

  4. Radishes

  5. Tomatoes

  6. Green Peppers

  7. Cauliflower

  8. Watermelon

  9. Spinach

  10. Strawberries

  11. Broccoli

  12. Grapefruit

I love, love, love this stuff!! As a mom I don't have a lot of free time to just run and get a pedicure like i used to, so I was super excited when I came across this Palmers Foot Magic at Target.  I follow it up with the foot lotion and always use it a night before bed.  I try and use it a few times a week.

Y'all, this Mario Badescu face spray is so awesome!  I use it morning and night after toning my face but before putting on moisturizer.  There are two other types as well; Aloe Chamomile Lavender & Aloe  Herb & Rosewater.  The best part about these is that you can also use them on your hair!! AND they're only $7 for the 4oz or $12 for the 8oz.  You can shop them here.

This Colleen Rothschild cleansing gel was given to me by my sister and I immediately fell in love with it.  It feels like silk on your skin and gets off every bit of your makeup without drying out your skin.  Face wash was never a big deal to me and not something I took too seriously until this stuff came in my life! They're having a 20% off anniversary sale right now too! You can purchase it here

This Tula eye serum is life saving!! Since i began using it i can see an improvement in my crows feet and it keeps that sensitive skin around my eyes nice and hydrated. Not to mention the metal applicator is nice and cooling.  I actually have several Tula brand beauty products and I thoroughly enjoy them.  You can shop all the products here.

And last but certainly not least, COCONUT OIL! I use this Every. Single. Day.  No, not for cooking but to keep my skin hydrated.  I use it on my face and entire body as lotion.  It's amazing, just try it!  And you can get it literally anywhere, it doesn't matter what kind.

I hope this list was helpful!! Now, go get hydrated!!
